Mr.
Raymond Torres has been an active member of the Puerto Rican
Chamber of Commerce of South Florida since 1992. Serving the board
as the Membership Committee Chair.
Originally from Gurabo, Puerto Rico, he grew up and was
educated in Indiana.
After working for several years in Chicago, he relocated to
South Florida.
Here he runs his own company, Tower Financial and Insurance
Group, providing insurance products to businesses and individuals.
Mr. Torres resides in Kendall, where he is active in the
community and in his Church.

Joseph F.
Lopez, Esq. is an attorney-at-law with offices in Coral Gables,
FL. He has been a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors
since 1995.
Mr. Lopez received his undergraduate and law degrees from Fordham
University in New York. His firm practices in the areas of
business contracts, real estate, civil and criminal litigation,
family law and immigration.
Mr. Lopez was previously an attorney with Eastern Airlines, Avis
Rent-A-Car, Olivetti Corporation and America Airlines.

Mr.
Melvin "Skip" Chaves, an organizer and founding member
of the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of South Florida, served
as its first Chairman from 1992 to 1995.
Mr. Chaves continues to serve on our Board of Directors, and is
Chairman of the Chamber’s Raul Juliá Scholarship Committee. He
is the founding President and former CEO of the Florida SER-Jobs
for Progress.
Mr. Chaves is a trustee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Henry
Mojica is a founding member of the Puerto Rican Chamber of
Commerce of South Florida, and has served on the Board of
Directors since its inception. Mr. Mojica has been instrumental in establishing the
Chamber’s web site.
Mr. Mojica has over sixteen years of sales experience in the food
industry, having worked for such prestigious companies as Coca-Cola
USA, Nestles Foods and Lifesavers Candy.
Mr. Mojica previously represented the City of Miami and the
office of Mayor Steven P. Clark as Senior Administrative Assistant
to the Mayor.
Mr. Mojica is currently employed with Rafael Hernandez Housing and
Economic Development Corporation, as Project Manager for the
organization’s Economic Development programs, as well, is a
State of Florida Licensed
Mortgage Broker.

Mr.
Eduardo Godoy has been a member of the Chamber’s Board of
Directors since 1992, and served as its Treasurer until 1998.
Mr. Godoy received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree
in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico. Now, with over
23 years of public accounting and tax experience, he serves as Tax
Partner / Director for the prestigious accounting firm of BDO
Seidman in Miami.
Mr. Godoy is an active member of the American and Florida
Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. As well as serving on
our Board of Directors, is a past President of the United
Cerebral Palsy Association of Miami, a Director of the United
Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors
of SER Jobs for

Victor
T. Gutierrez is a practicing attorney in Miami, Florida.
He has practiced law for over 22 years specializing in
Federal and State litigation, criminal law, commercial litigation
and torts.
A former prosecutor, he is a member of the Florida Bar, the
Federal Trial Bar for the U. S. District Court for the Southern
District of Florida, and the U. S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd,
4th, 5th and 11th Circuits.
Mr. Gutierrez is co-founder and former Chairperson of
the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of South Florida, co-founder
and Board Member of the Hispanic Coalition, and Attorney and Board
Member of the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of the United
States.
Mr. Gutierrez received his Juris Doctor from the
University of California, Davis; his M.A. from Texas A&E; and
his B.A. from Ambassador College, Brickett Wood, England.
He also studied at the City University of New York and the
University of Madrid.

Mr.
Carlos Juliá is a founding member of the South Florida Puerto
Rican Chamber of Commerce and served as its second Chairman of the
Board.
Mr. Julia is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico,
and has been an Account Executive with the Miami Herald for 22
years.
Mr. Julia serves as a member of the Board of Directors at
SER Jobs for Progress and is past President of the Puerto Rican
Heritage Foundation.
In order to memorialize the life and work of the late Puerto Rican
actor, Raul Julia, Carlos encouraged the Chamber of Commerce to
found the Raul Julia Scholarship Fund. This fund has, to date,
distributed $9,000 in scholarship awards.

Councilman
Raymond Marin is a founding member of our Chamber of Commerce, and
has served on the Board of Directors since its inception. Born in
Santurce, Puerto Rico,
Mr. Marin is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and a
Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida.
Mr. Marin is the senior partner in the distinguished accounting
firm of Hixson, Marin, Powell & DeSanctis P. A., with office
in North Miami Beach, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach Gardens.
Mr. Marin has served several terms as a Councilman in the City of
North Miami Beach, where he has also served as Vice-Mayor, and is
presently it's Mayor. As well, Mr. Marin is a Trustee of the David
L. Singer Memorial Foundation Special Olympics, a Board Member of
the South Florida Food Recovery, and active in various other civic
organizations.

Mr. Luis
De Rosa has been President of the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce
of South Florida since its inception. Having worked during the
1980’s as Executive Director in a New York City Community
Development Corporation, Mr. De Rosa comes to this position with
an extensive background in the field of economic development and
community involvement. Mr. De Rosa is also Chairman of the
Board of Directors at Rafael Hernandez Housing & Economic
Development Corp. and board member at Borinquen Health Center.
Appointed in 1999 by Mayor Alex Penelas, Miami-Dade County, to the
Empowerment Trust Board. In 2002 appointed by Mayor Manny Diaz,
City of Miami, Homeland Defense Board. |
